SHARDS OF HOPE

A story of hope and courage

SHARDS OF HOPE

One day, Mirit, a mother, brought me two tiny black shards that had been extracted from the body of her son Idan, a young Israeli soldier severely wounded in battle. She tearfully recounted how Idan's tank was struck by an RPG fired by Hamas militants in Gaza, leaving him critically injured by shrapnel.

Mirit requested I design a special pendant using one of the shrapnel shards for Idan to wear as a memento of his bravery and harrowing experience. She wanted it to symbolize his courage and her hope for his recovery.

Creating this meaningful pendant embodying Idan's courage, Mirit's hope, and the powerful mother-son bond was profoundly moving. Since receiving it, Idan has never removed the shrapnel pendant, a lasting emblem of his military service and survival.
